La Passe is the one real village on La Digue, the point where the ferry lands and almost all of island life is concentrated. On an island where bicycles and ox-carts still outnumber cars, this is the centre of everything, and the small, tightly held property market here is as close as La Digue gets to a hub.

The setting
A low-key coastal village of guesthouses, shops, bicycle-hire stands and the ferry jetty, backed by the granite hills that define La Digue. Everything on the island is reached from here, mostly by bike.
What sells here
A small, scarce stock of homes, guesthouses and character properties. Supply is limited and tightly held, so anything that comes up tends to move on reputation and word of mouth.
Getting there
La Passe is where the ferry from Praslin arrives, a short crossing of around fifteen minutes, with onward boats to Mahé. From the jetty most of the island is a flat bicycle ride away.
