Takamaka Property Guide, Mahé

Takamaka is the deep south of Mahé, a lush, dramatic stretch of coast known for some of the most beautiful and unspoilt beaches on the island. Quieter and greener than the north, it is a place buyers choose for seclusion and scenery, a rural, end-of-the-island feel a world away from Victoria and the resort strip.

About Takamaka, Mahé

The setting

Steep green hills tumbling down to wide surf beaches like Anse Takamaka and Grand Police, backed by forest. The pace is slow and the surroundings are as natural as anywhere on Mahé.

What sells here

Hillside villas and homes with big sea views, plus the occasional plot, generally for buyers happy to trade proximity for scenery and privacy. This is a lifestyle location above all.

Getting there

The far south is around thirty to forty minutes from Victoria. The area is home to the Takamaka rum distillery at La Plaine St André, and neighbours some of Mahé's finest southern beaches.

Buying from abroad. A foreign purchase anywhere in Seychelles needs a government sanction and has to clear the price thresholds. See our buyer guide for the full process.
